Where a lot of Blazers in this era leaned on earthy, rugged palettes, we went for something brighter, bolder, and a little more alive: Viper Red over GM Corvette White, with every stripe hand-painted in place — no pin-striping, no decals, no shortcuts. The contrast between that deep, saturated red and the factory-correct white hits exactly the way a classic American two-tone should. It honors the original design intent of these trucks while giving the body the kind of pop the factory finish never quite managed.

Power comes from a 480-horsepower LS3, paired with a 4L60 transmission and an Atlas transfer case that lets you lock the front and rear differentials independently or together. Custom beadlock wheels sit at all four corners, and dual Fox shocks front and rear keep the ride composed without sanding off the character that makes a Blazer feel like a Blazer. We left in just enough of that classic "swoopiness" — the soft, slightly floaty feel that lets you know you're driving an '80s 4x4 and not a modern crossover. On the interstate, the truck tracks straight as an arrow at 70 miles per hour, smooth, planted, and effortless in a way these trucks were never originally engineered to be.

The interior is where this build really separates itself. Done entirely in-house by our interior team, the cabin is wrapped in camel leather from the seats to the headliner, with custom square-pattern stitching pulled through with thick, deliberate thread work. The square motif carries into the door panels, the center console, and the rear bench, tying the whole interior together without ever feeling overdone. We kept the original seats, recushioned and recovered from the frames up, because their high-back shape is part of what makes these trucks so comfortable to spend time in. Dakota Digital gauges anchor the dash, custom cup holders and a fresh center console keep the layout modern, and the carpet was built to spec from front to back.

A bit of history is worth knowing here. The second-generation Blazer, which ran from 1973 forward, was really a redesign of GM's CK truck line — the Blazer being a close cousin of the K10. It was the era when GM started shifting these trucks from pure utility rigs toward something families could actually live with, with more comfortable interiors and a smoother ride to match what Bronco and International Scout were doing at the time. That evolution is exactly what made the Blazer the Blazer — the vehicle a whole generation grew up riding in. This build honors that history while quietly modernizing everything that benefits from it.

Will it ever see real off-road duty? Probably not — not with this paint. But that's part of the point. This is a Blazer built to be driven, enjoyed, and noticed. It still feels like an '80s 4x4 in all the ways that matter, and drives like a brand-new vehicle in all the ways that count. Viper Red, GM white, camel leather, and a 480-horsepower LS3 — a build that turns heads everywhere it goes. This Blazer is no longer available through the shop.
